End of an Era for Collierville Baseball
Jeff Munier, the longtime architect of Collierville High School’s baseball program, announced that he will not continue as head coach after eleven seasons. The decision was confirmed by school officials this week, bringing to a close a chapter that reshaped the Dragons’ competitive landscape.
During the 2026 TSSAA season, Munier guided the team to a 37-12 record, capturing the District 15-4A championship and advancing to the Class 4A state tournament. The run underscored his ability to blend experienced talent with emerging players, a balance that defined his tenure.
Munier’s overall coaching footprint extends beyond Collierville. He previously led programs at Tunica Academy and Olive Branch High School, accumulating a career record of 509-162 over 21 seasons. At Collierville alone, his dual roles as coach and assistant produced a 339-119 mark and five state tournament appearances.
The school community responded with gratitude for Munier’s contributions, highlighting his commitment to player development and program stability. Athletic Director Orentheus Taylor praised the coach’s impact, noting that the foundation he built will influence future Dragons for years to come.
While the search for a successor begins, the administration has emphasized continuity in philosophy and culture. Munier’s departure marks a pivotal moment for Collierville baseball, a program now poised to carry forward the standards he established.
