Jefferson Community College Women’s Soccer Rebuilds Under New Head Coach Kennady Amo

A former player returns to reshape the program after Samantha Stokely's graduation

Jefferson Community College is ushering in a new chapter for its women's soccer program as Kennady Amo takes the helm as head coach, succeeding Chris Rowland, who previously steered both the men's and women's squads.

A New Era for the JCC Women's Soccer Program

Amo, a Thousand Islands Central School alumna and former collegiate player, returns to the North Country with a mission to rebuild after the graduation of star forward Samantha Stokely, who netted 22 goals last season.

The roster now comprises five returning sophomores and nine freshmen, with the sophomores expected to shoulder leadership responsibilities both on the field and in the locker room.

Building Chemistry and Conditioning

From the outset, Amo has instituted structured communication drills and constructive feedback loops, fostering an environment where players feel comfortable offering and receiving critique. Daily conditioning sessions are designed to elevate stamina and competitiveness, ensuring the team can meet the physical demands of higher‑ranked opponents.

Looking Toward the Midstate Conference

With the season’s schedule looming, the coaching staff is focused on translating improved fitness and cohesion into match‑day results, targeting a conference title that has eluded the program in recent years.
