Northern Colorado announced this week that Jenna Knudson will step onto the Bears' bench as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator, bringing a blend of playing experience and administrative savvy to the program.
Knudson's journey through college basketball has been marked by stints under head coach Becky Burke at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and the University of Arizona, where she honed her craft alongside a staff that includes Todd Starkey, James Ewing, Julie Hairgrove, Devan Newman and Peyton Klauber.
Her earlier roles at Quincy University and Drury University equipped her with a deep understanding of player development, a foundation she now brings to a Northern Colorado program that surged to a 23‑11 record last season after a modest 14‑17 finish the year before.
A New Era at the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame
In parallel, Michelle Marciniak, who served as Arizona's general manager before stepping down, has been tapped to lead the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame as its new chief executive officer. Marciniak will assume the role on July 1, ushering in a period of transition for an institution that celebrates the sport's most influential figures.
The moves underscore a broader shift in how programs and governing bodies are leveraging experienced administrators to drive growth, enhance recruitment pipelines and elevate the visibility of women's basketball across the country.
