Princeton University announced this week that Jenna Ross has been appointed assistant coach of the Princeton Women's Basketball Team, bringing a distinguished playing background and recent coaching experience to the program.
From Player to Coach
Ross spent five seasons as an assistant at the University of Utah, where she helped shape post players and contributed to recruiting efforts. Her tenure coincided with a period in which the Utes captured four NCAA Tournament berths, a testament to the program’s stability under her guidance.
Before her coaching role, Ross enjoyed a standout playing career at Utah, graduating in 2025 after appearing in 128 games. She finished among the school’s all‑time leaders with more than 1,300 points and 600 rebounds, earned three All‑PAC‑12 honors and helped the team reach the NCAA Tournament on four occasions.
Leadership Welcomes the New Addition
Head coach Lauren Gosselin praised Ross’s maturity, confidence and coaching potential, stating that her blend of competitive experience and developmental insight aligns perfectly with Princeton’s ambitions. Gosselin highlighted the hire as a strategic move to strengthen the Tigers’ roster building and on‑court growth.
Ross expressed enthusiasm about joining Princeton’s storied program, noting the university’s academic reputation and competitive spirit as key factors in her decision. She looks forward to contributing to player development and fostering a culture of excellence both on and off the court.
Looking Ahead
The addition of Ross signals Princeton’s intent to blend seasoned leadership with fresh perspectives as the team prepares for the upcoming season. Athletic officials anticipate that her recruitment expertise will enhance roster depth and competitive edge.
