Jermaine Blackmon has been announced as the newest assistant coach and director of player development for Presbyterian College’s men’s basketball program, a move that brings a blend of championship experience and developmental focus to the Blue Hose roster.
Blackmon arrives after four years at Boston College, where he served as director of player development and video coordinator, and prior stints at the College of Charleston that included a role in the 2018 CAA Championship run and an NCAA Tournament appearance.
Championship pedigree and mentorship
During his tenure at the College of Charleston, Blackmon contributed to a team that captured the 2018 CAA title and advanced to the NCAA Tournament, experiences he says have shaped his approach to player growth and team culture.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the College of Charleston (2019) and a master’s in sports administration from Boston College (2022), credentials that reflect his commitment to both academic and athletic excellence.
Leadership welcomes the new addition
Head coach Quinton Ferrell highlighted Blackmon’s growth as a mentor and his ability to connect with players, stating that his addition is intended to elevate the program’s culture and player development pipeline.
