Jesse Legree, a freshman playing for Oregon State University, was named Pac‑12 Freshman of the Week after a spectacular debut in the Beavers' season opener against Houston.
In that game he recorded five receptions for 136 yards and a touchdown, demonstrating a blend of speed and sure hands that immediately turned heads across the conference.
His first career interception came on a 71‑yard pass in the opening quarter, and he raced 40 yards after the catch, providing a momentum‑shifting play early in the contest.
Later in the second half he added a 7‑yard reception for a touchdown, completing a perfect day in which every one of his five targets resulted in either a first down or a score.
The excitement surrounding Legree’s performance sets the stage for Oregon State’s first home game of the 2026 season, scheduled for Saturday at 4:30 p.m. PT at Reser Stadium.
A Promising Start for the Beavers
Fans will get the chance to watch the freshman in action on his home field, building on the early momentum he has generated and hoping to help the Beavers launch a strong campaign in the weeks ahead.
