Jesse Love, a defending champion in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, has endured a winless start to the 2026 season despite having led 383 laps, the most of any driver through 24 races.
The lack of victories has been punctuated by mechanical setbacks, most notably at the May 30 event at Nashville Superspeedway where Love led 87 laps from the pole before a loose‑wheel issue forced him out of contention and resulted in a 16th‑place finish.
Championship Hopes in the Making
Looking ahead, Love is set to graduate to the NASCAR Cup Series in 2027, joining Wood Brothers Racing in the No. 21 Ford, a move he says will give him a fresh platform to chase a second championship.
He has described his current car as the best he has ever driven, emphasizing that the combination of speed and reliability offers a solid foundation for the Chase, provided that the occasional bad luck can be mitigated.
Richard Childress Racing, which supplies a consistent Chevrolet for Love, has demonstrated steady speed throughout the season, reinforcing his confidence that the partnership can translate into race wins when fortune favors him.
