A New Face for the Hoosiers
Indiana Field Hockey coach Kayla Bashore announced the signing of Jessie Mauro, a promising forward from Nottingham, England, as the program's third commitment for the 2026 recruiting class, joining Elle Obenour and Helen Grahe.
Mauro arrives with a strong junior pedigree, having starred at Trent College and honed her game with the Beeston Hockey Club under coach James Henderson. Her achievements include U16 Player of the Season honors and the 2024 Most Improved Women's Player award, while her club captured the TA Tournament three consecutive years.
At Indiana University, Mauro plans to major in Sports Science and cited the welcoming, family‑like atmosphere of the campus as a key factor in her decision. She described the environment as uniquely supportive compared with other universities.
The recruit is the daughter of JP and Michelle Mauro and grows up alongside four siblings, a background that has shaped her collaborative spirit on and off the field.
Coach Bashore expressed confidence that Mauro's blend of skill, academic ambition, and team‑oriented mindset will strengthen the Hoosiers' roster as they look ahead to the upcoming season.
