The Brantford Bulldogs have announced the addition of defenceman Jet Kwajah, who inked a scholarship and development agreement after a standout season with the Madison Capitols of the USHL.
Born in Hamilton, Ontario, Kwajah entered the 2024 OHL Priority Selection Draft in the sixth round, a milestone that reflects both his defensive poise and offensive upside.
During his rookie campaign in the USHL, he recorded six goals and ten assists over 41 games, earning a spot on the league’s All‑Rookie Team and drawing attention from NHL Central Scouting ahead of the 2026 draft.
Prior to the USHL, Kwajah honed his skills with the Toronto Jr. Canadiens U16 AAA program, posting 23 points in 30 GTHL appearances, and later helped his team to a 27‑point contribution from the blue line in the 2026‑27 season.
The Bulldogs secured his rights in a trade with the Owen Sound Attack, a move that GM Spencer Hyman says highlights Kwajah’s skating, puck‑moving and defensive abilities.
Kwajah will join a growing cohort of Penn State commits, including teammates Xavier Lieb and Owen DeGraff, signaling a pipeline of talent heading to the university program.
With his blend of offensive flair and defensive reliability, the 2024‑25 season promises to showcase how the young blueliner can shape the Bulldogs’ back end and potentially attract further NHL interest.
A New Chapter for the Bulldogs' Defense
The acquisition marks a strategic shift for Brantford, aiming to fortify a defensive core that has faced challenges in recent seasons. By integrating a player who already demonstrates NHL scouting interest, the club hopes to accelerate its rebuild and compete more aggressively in the Eastern Conference.
