The University of Jamestown women's soccer squad is set to host Davenport University's Panthers on September 1 at noon Central Daylight Time on Pepsi Field in Hammond, Indiana, marking the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
Historic First Meeting
Both teams enter the contest unbeaten in their opening fixtures, with the Jimmies sitting at 0‑0‑1 after a 1‑1 draw with Roosevelt, while the Panthers are 0‑0‑2 following two 1‑1 and 2‑2 stalemates against Truman State and Quincy respectively.
The match will showcase a number of storylines, not least the debut of goalkeeper Taylor Musser, who made four saves in her collegiate debut, and the return of forward Breanna Oettle, who scored the equaliser in that earlier tie and will be looking to add to her tally.
Davenport's offensive threats will revolve around Reegen Dunn, Madison Fant and Autumn Wakefield, who have been among the team's top scorers, while midfielder Audrey Muterspaugh contributes two assists already this season. In goal, Elizabeth Wolter has posted 11 saves and a .786 save percentage through the first two games.
Looking Ahead
After the Hammond encounter, the Jimmies are scheduled to travel to face Minot State University on September 4 at 5 p.m. CDT, a game that could further shape their early-season momentum.
With both sides eager to break new ground, the upcoming clash promises a competitive and closely watched contest that could set the tone for the remainder of the schedule.
