Campbell University's basketball program has added a veteran presence to its coaching roster with the appointment of Joe Haigh as assistant coach. The move signals the administration's intent to blend proven expertise with fresh ideas as the Camels look to sharpen their competitive edge.

Haigh arrives after a distinguished tenure at Saint Francis University (PA), where he served as head coach for seven seasons and guided the program to some of its most successful periods. Under his direction the team amassed 93 victories, captured two NEC regular‑season titles and secured tournament championships in 2017‑18, marking the second‑most wins in school history.
His coaching philosophy centers on an up‑tempo style that emphasizes aggressive defense, three‑point shooting and rapid transition play. During his time at Saint Francis the team consistently ranked among the nation’s leaders in scoring, steals and perimeter shooting, a testament to his ability to develop both systems and individual talent.
The new assistant coach also brings a strong network of relationships to Campbell. He previously worked alongside head coach Ali Jaques at Siena, where their collaboration helped the Hawks achieve a 21‑win season and reach the CAA quarterfinals. That partnership, built on mutual respect and shared vision, is expected to translate into a seamless integration into the Camels' staff.
Beyond the X's and O's, Haigh is known for his focus on player development and leadership cultivation. Off the court, Haigh and his wife, Sherri Orlosky, are parents of five children. Sherri, a former Notre Dame basketball player, shares a deep understanding of the student‑athlete experience that complements Joe's professional pursuits.
Haigh's academic background includes a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Notre Dame and a master's in sport leadership earned at Virginia Commonwealth University, where he also served in operational roles that further honed his administrative skills.
