A Local Lens on the Thoroughbreds
Skidmore College has named Joe Piperata as its new assistant coach for the men’s soccer program, a move that brings a blend of regional familiarity and fresh energy to the team.
A graduate of Rensselaer, New York, Piperata grew up just a short drive from the Saratoga Springs campus, giving him an intimate understanding of the Upstate New York community that the program calls home.
In his new capacity, Piperata will oversee training sessions, contribute to player development, assist with recruiting, and handle film analysis and match preparation, ensuring the Thoroughbreds are prepared for each contest.

Head coach Brad Campion praised the addition, noting that Piperata’s enthusiasm and deep connection to the area will help sustain the program’s winning culture while fostering a positive experience for student‑athletes.
The team opens the 2026 season at home against Buffalo State on September 1, a match that will mark Piperata’s debut on the sidelines and set the tone for the upcoming schedule.
