Muskies Aim to Rebuild After Graduations
The John Glenn High School football team, known as the Muskies, will enter the 2026 season with a significantly altered roster. The departure of the starting quarterback, running back and leading wide receiver has left a void in the offense that produced the bulk of the team’s scoring last year.
Despite the losses, the Muskies retain their entire starting offensive line, giving the new-look unit a solid foundation. In addition, 25 lettermen return, providing depth and experience that coaches hope will translate into improved performance on the field.
Key Returners and New Opportunities
Among the returning lettermen are seniors Cashton Paisley, Charlie Cameron and Matt Edwards. Their familiarity with the playbook and proven contributions in previous seasons position them to play pivotal roles as the team seeks to rebuild its offensive identity.
Coaches have emphasized a more balanced attack that can exploit the strengths of the returning line while integrating the talents of the new skill players. Early practice reports suggest the unit is clicking, and the team is optimistic about its prospects heading into the first scrimmage.
The Muskies will open the season in Concord, Ohio, where they will face non‑conference opponents that test their revised scheme. Community support remains strong, and the school hopes the renewed energy will translate into higher attendance and engagement throughout the campaign.
