Jojo Johnson, a wide receiver prospect from Goochland, Virginia, has signed on to join Purdue’s 2026 recruiting class, bringing a blend of size, speed and high school production that caught the eye of the Boilermakers’ coaching staff.
A Promising Prospect
During his senior season at Benedictine Cadets High School, Johnson recorded 41 receptions for 560 yards and 11 touchdowns, numbers that helped him earn a 3‑star rating from Rivals and a 84.87 grade that placed him 1,685th nationally and 255th among receivers.
The wide receiver corps at Purdue remains open, a factor that could give Johnson early playing time, though the program often employs a redshirt strategy to allow newcomers to acclimate physically and technically.
Coaches have highlighted his work ethic and coachability, traits that align with the development model the university applies to players who need an extra year to refine route precision and strength.
If the plan unfolds as expected, Johnson will spend his freshman year on the scout team, gaining exposure to Big Ten defenses while adding muscle and conditioning to meet the conference’s physical demands.
