61‑year‑old Michael Quinn faces aggravated battery charges following a violent altercation that left a neighbor hospitalized.

Sixty‑one‑year‑old Michael Quinn of Joliet was taken into custody on Tuesday after police say he used a baseball bat to assault a man on South Larkin Avenue. The attack, which occurred just after midnight, resulted in severe head and facial trauma for the victim, who was rushed to St. Joseph Medical Center for emergency care.

A violent dispute in a quiet neighborhood

According to investigators, Quinn and the victim had been arguing in a nearby parking lot before the assault. Witnesses told officers the suspect brandished the bat and struck the victim repeatedly, leading to the injuries that required hospitalization.

Quinn was located later that night at a Motel 6 on McDonough Street, where he was arrested without incident. The arrest came after a brief pursuit, and he was subsequently booked on charges of aggravated battery.

Authorities noted that Quinn has a history of domestic‑related offenses in Will County, including prior convictions for domestic battery. He had previously been charged with two counts of domestic battery in December, underscoring a pattern of violent behavior.

The Joliet Police Department and the Will County State's Attorney's Office are continuing their investigation. Quinn was released on a notice to appear in court, where he will face the pending charges.
