Joliet is gearing up for a high‑octane celebration as the NASCAR Race Fan Rally rolls into downtown this Thursday.
Police have issued a traffic advisory that will keep several streets closed from 9 a.m. until 11 p.m., urging drivers to plan alternate routes.
The closure window coincides with the rally’s main hours, which run from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., and officers will be stationed throughout the area to manage traffic and ensure public safety.
Security and Mobility Measures
Security will be bolstered with drone surveillance, giving officers real‑time eyes on the crowds while the free, ADA‑accessible shuttle will ferry fans between Chicagoland Speedway and the Joliet City Square every 30 to 40 minutes.
Event organizers promise a full lineup of NASCAR cars, a classic car show, vendors, food, kids’ activities and live music, all at no charge to attendees.
