Jordan Dillon Commits to Georgia Tech
Jordan Dillon, a senior offensive lineman at Effingham County High School in Georgia, announced his commitment to the Georgia Institute of Technology on Wednesday, choosing the Yellow Jackets over a crowded field of more than three dozen scholarship offers.
The 3‑star recruit, who transferred from Savannah Christian Preparatory for his final season, said the decision was driven by a desire to contribute immediately to a program poised for a deep playoff run. Dillon highlighted the coaching staff’s vision and the opportunity to play early on the interior line as key factors.
A Competitive Recruitment
Dillon’s recruitment journey was anything but ordinary. He fielded interest from powerhouses such as Auburn, Virginia Tech and North Carolina State, but ultimately felt that Tech’s blend of academic support and athletic development matched his long‑term plans. The offer list also included a visit from Georgia head coach Kirby Smart in January, underscoring the program’s emphasis on both on‑field and off‑field growth.
Head coach John Ford of Effingham County praised the commitment, noting that Dillon’s skill set will translate well to the college game. “Tech is the perfect spot for Jordan,” Ford said, adding that the lineman’s work ethic and leadership will be instrumental as the team aims to break through the regional playoffs.
Personal Goals and Team Aspirations
Beyond the field, Dillon intends to major in marketing or sports management, a choice that reflects his ambition to blend athletic performance with business acumen. He has set personal targets of earning All‑State honors once again and guiding Effingham County to a playoff victory before he graduates.
