Jordan Hill, a Penn State alumnus and former NFL veteran, has been appointed director of the Penn State Football Letterman's Club, a role he will hold while also serving as the program's director of player development.
Hill’s ascent comes as Wally Richardson, who long steered the club, steps aside after a distinguished tenure, marking a leadership transition aimed at preserving the group’s tradition of supporting student‑athletes.
From Defensive Lineman to Player Development Executive
During his collegiate years, Hill earned All‑Big Ten honors and was instrumental in keeping the program afloat during the challenges that followed the Sandusky scandal, his defensive line play anchoring the team.
His senior season saw him start every game, post 64 tackles and earn first‑team All‑Big Ten recognition, capping a college career that began when he signed with Penn State in 2009.
A New Chapter After a Stellar College Career
After being drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft, Hill contributed to a Super Bowl‑winning squad, later adding brief stops with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Detroit Lions before injuries prompted his retirement.
Transitioning to coaching, Hill led Trinity High School in 2021, and in 2024 he returned to his alma mater as the life‑skills director before the recent reshuffling of the player development staff elevated him to his current title.
The move underscores the university’s commitment to leveraging former players who embody both on‑field excellence and off‑field leadership, a strategy that aligns with broader efforts to enrich the student‑athlete experience.
