Jordan Walley Commits to Minnesota Gophers

Three-star cornerback joins Big Ten program, following brother's path

A New Era for the Gophers Defense

Jordan Walley, a three‑star cornerback from the Midwest, announced his commitment to the University of Minnesota Gophers on Wednesday, choosing the Big Ten program over several other suitors.

The 5‑foot‑9, 160‑pound prospect impressed coaches with a 4.48‑second 40‑yard dash and a 35‑inch vertical jump, numbers that suggest both speed and explosiveness.

In high school, Walley proved to be a dynamic playmaker on both sides of the ball, throwing for 1,368 yards and five touchdowns while also rushing for 776 yards and 16 scores.

Defensively, he recorded 31 tackles, four pass breakups and one interception last season, showcasing twitchy hips, fluid recovery speed and ball‑skills that set him apart.

Coaches note that he will need to add muscle and refine his technique to translate those tools to the collegiate level, but they remain excited about his upside.

Jordan follows in the footsteps of his older brother, Justin Walley, a former Gophers cornerback who now patrols the secondary for the Indianapolis Colts.
