Destin High School announced this week that Josh Rose has been appointed as the new head coach of the varsity boys' basketball program.
Rose comes to the role after a successful stint at Davidson Middle School, where he compiled a 64‑9 record in basketball and a 62‑11 record in baseball, demonstrating both strategic acumen and player development skills.
A Vision Grounded in Community
In addition to his basketball duties, Rose will serve as an assistant coach for the school's football and baseball teams and will join the faculty as a paraprofessional, a move school officials say will help integrate athletics across grade levels.
His philosophy centers on building a program rooted in toughness, accountability and meaningful relationships, with an emphasis on daily improvement and hard work.
The school has scheduled a basketball interest meeting for July 23 at 5:30 p.m. in the Destin High School Auditorium, inviting players and parents to learn more about the upcoming season.
Executive Director Willy Williams praised Rose's vision, stating that the new leadership aligns with the school's commitment to student success and community involvement.
