A Call-Up That Signals Promise
Julio Solier, a sophomore at Boston College, has been selected for the 2026 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp, a prestigious invitation that places him among the nation’s top underclassmen shortstops.
During the recent season he led the Eagles with a .354 batting average, amassed 84 hits, scored 57 runs and stole 28 bases, numbers that helped the team secure a strong conference record.
His performance earned him a spot as a Brooks Wallace Award Semifinalist, recognizing the country’s finest shortstop, and he was also named the award’s Player of the Week for the week of April 28th after delivering a .571 average with four RBI, three stolen bases and his first career home run.
A Milestone for Boston College Baseball
Solier joins Mason Pelio as only the second Boston College player to receive an invitation to the training camp, marking the first such honor for an Eagle since Pelio in 2019 and underscoring the program’s growing pipeline of elite talent.
He also finished second in school history for hits, stolen bases and triples in a single season, a testament to his consistency and playmaking ability that has drawn attention from national scouts.
Looking Ahead to Taiwan
The training camp will culminate in the inaugural World Collegiate Baseball Championship in Taiwan this July, where the selected squad will represent the United States against top collegiate teams from around the globe.
For Solier, the opportunity is more than personal acclaim; it is a chance to showcase the depth of talent emerging from Boston College and to contribute to the sport’s growing international presence.
