Angel City Football Club confirmed that forward Jun Endo suffered a right anterior cruciate ligament tear during the recent match against San Diego Wave FC, a blow that will keep her out for the remainder of the season. The club has placed Endo on the season‑ending injury (SEI) list, signaling the end of her campaign.
Director of Medical Hollie Walusz issued a statement expressing support for Endo’s recovery, emphasizing that the player remains a pivotal figure in the squad’s plans. "Her importance to the team goes beyond the statistics; she is a cornerstone of our attacking philosophy," Walusz said.
Endo’s arrival in December 2021 marked the beginning of Angel City’s inaugural roster. She announced her presence with a decisive goal on debut, a 2‑1 victory over North Carolina Courage that set the tone for the club’s early success. Over the ensuing seasons she amassed 22 appearances in 2022 and 17 in 2023, despite recurring injury setbacks.
A prior knee injury in February 2024 forced Endo to miss the bulk of the 2024 campaign, with a projected return not until August 2025. After a careful rehabilitation, she made a modest comeback in 2026, featuring in nine matches and logging 431 minutes of play.
The club has secured her services through the 2027 NWSL season, a contract that underscores the organization’s commitment to retaining a player who has contributed to two winning campaigns.
