Klopp to Lead Germany
The German Soccer Federation has scheduled a news conference for Friday to formally introduce Jürgen Klopp as the country's next national team coach, a move that caps a swift rise after the abrupt resignation of Julian Nagelsmann.
Klopp, who guided Liverpool to multiple Premier League titles and a Champions League triumph before stepping away in 2024 citing exhaustion, has been training with Red Bull's global soccer operation and has spoken openly about his desire to return to the dugout.
The primary hurdle in finalising the appointment was securing Red Bull's consent, given the energy drink conglomerate's direct involvement with Klopp's recent work and the strategic importance of his expertise for the federation's long‑term planning.
During the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Klopp held informal talks with German officials in New York, where the federation outlined its vision for a fresh tactical direction after the early group‑stage exit. The conference will take place in Frankfurt, the federation's headquarters, and will be streamed live across Germany and abroad.
Red Bull's Role
Red Bull's global soccer chief highlighted the mutual benefits of the partnership, noting that Klopp's experience in high‑pressure environments aligns with the club's ambition to elevate talent development worldwide. The agreement also includes a clause that allows Klopp to balance national duties with select Red Bull projects.
