Justin Faltysek, a former standout at both A&M Consolidated and UMHB, has been named the new head baseball coach at Houston Memorial High School. The appointment marks a homecoming for a coach whose roots run deep in the Brazos Valley.

Faltysek’s connection to the region stretches back to his teenage years, when he wore a Renegades uniform from 1994 to 1997. The Brazos Valley Renegades organization was founded by his father, giving the coach a personal tie that blends family legacy with professional ambition.
Over the past five years he served as an assistant at Katy Taylor, where he helped shape a competitive program. Prior to that, he climbed the ranks at Magnolia West, earning promotion to head coach in 2017, and earlier held head coaching posts at New Waverly while also assisting at Rowlett High School.
His extensive playing and coaching background equips him with a nuanced understanding of the game, and school officials say they are excited to see how his experience will translate into player development and team culture at Houston Memorial.
The hiring also underscores the school’s commitment to continuity and community engagement, leveraging a coach who not only knows the local talent pool but also embodies the spirit of Texas baseball.
