Academic Excellence Meets Athletic Growth
The K‑State Wildcats soccer team added another accolade to its résumé when it received the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2025‑26 academic year, marking the sixth time the program has earned the honor in the past eleven seasons. The award coincides with the Wildcats posting the highest grade point average in the Big 12, a 3.75 collective GPA that underscores the team’s commitment to scholarship as well as competition.
Under the direction of head coach Colleen Corbin, the Wildcats also achieved a milestone on the field, posting a 7‑6‑5 record that represents the program’s first winning season in its history. The campaign saw the team break 49 school records, including marks for total wins, goals scored and shutouts recorded, a testament to Corbin’s transformative impact.
The roster’s stability provides a promising foundation for the upcoming season, with 57 percent of the previous year’s goals and 64 percent of assists returning to the lineup. The Wildcats will begin the 2025 campaign on the road against Seattle University in Honolulu, Hawaii, a match that will test the depth and chemistry built during the offseason.
