Kaden Benne, a senior basketball standout from Mexico, Missouri, has committed to continue his career at Central Methodist University in Fayette, signing his letter of intent last week.
During his high school tenure, Benne amassed an impressive résumé: three‑time all‑conference honors, two selections to the all‑district team, and a recent academic all‑state recognition. He finished the season with averages of 15.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and a 38 % three‑point shooting rate, while also knocking down 151 three‑pointers over his four‑year career.
Coach Darren Pappas, who has been guiding the Eagles for several seasons, praised Benne’s work ethic and untapped potential. “Kaden brings a relentless drive to the gym and a defensive intensity that sets him apart,” Pappas said in a statement.
Engineering Ambitions Off the Court
Beyond basketball, Benne plans to pursue a degree in engineering at Central Methodist, a decision that reflects his desire to blend analytical thinking with athletic discipline. He has spoken proudly of his defensive skills, describing them as the foundation of his game.
The young athlete’s journey began on neighborhood courts in Mexico, where he first fell in love with the sport as a kindergartener. Over the years, he collected three conference championships and two district titles with his high school squad, experiences he says remain his proudest memories.
Benne’s signing marks a significant addition for the Eagles as they look to bolster their roster for the upcoming season, hoping his blend of shooting accuracy, rebounding and defensive grit will translate into more wins on the hardwood.
