Kaelan Taylor is set to return to the Tahoe Knight Monsters for a second full season, the organization confirmed on Tuesday.
During the 2023‑24 campaign he posted 20 points from the blue line, comprising three goals and 17 assists across 67 appearances, a key contribution that helped the team secure a playoff spot.
Taylor’s hockey journey began in Oceanside, California, before he starred at Clarkson University, where he appeared in 149 games and served as team captain in his senior year.
Prior to college, he spent a season with the Corpus Christi IceRays of the North American Hockey League and two years with the Dubuque Fighting Saints of the United States Hockey League, earning an alternate captaincy during the 2019‑20 season.
In the inaugural 2024‑25 stretch, Taylor logged two points in five games, showing he can still make an impact when called upon.
A Defensive Upgrade for the Knights Monsters
Coach and management alike praised Taylor’s blend of experience and leadership, noting that his presence should help younger defensemen adapt to the professional tempo.
Fans have responded positively to the news, seeing the move as a sign that the club is building on the momentum generated by its first season in the league.
