The Trois‑Rivières Lions, the ECHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens, announced today that forward Kaleb Ergang will wear their sweater for the 2026‑27 campaign.
A Homecoming of Sorts
Ergang, a native of Spruce Grove, Alberta, returns to the Quebec‑based club after four seasons at Ferris State University, where he capped his collegiate career with 21 points in 35 games.
His professional journey began in the Elite Ice Hockey League with Manchester Storm, where he recorded 29 points in 50 appearances last season, and continued with the Adirondack Thunder following his college graduation.
Lions general manager Martin Berger praised the forward’s blend of skill and work ethic, noting that Ergang’s versatility should bolster the team’s depth as they aim for a playoff push.
The signing underscores the Lions’ strategy of blending home‑grown talent with prospects developing under the Canadiens’ organization, a pathway that has produced several key contributors in recent years.
Ergang is expected to report to training camp in September, where he will compete for a top‑six role alongside veterans and newcomers alike.
