Kali has entered the downhill arena with a helmet that looks as purposeful as it performs. The Protective Kru draws direct inspiration from hockey helmets, translating their sleek, protective ethos into a full‑face platform built for the demands of mountain biking.
At the heart of the Kru is a 360° integrated titanium chin bar that forms a continuous, monolithic structure. This titanium element is molded directly into the Composite Fusion shell, creating a seamless barrier that resists impact while keeping the overall mass low.
Certified Strength and Extra Testing
The helmet clears a trio of safety benchmarks: ASTM F1952 for downhill, CPSC and EN 1078. Beyond these mandatory tests, Kali’s internal lab pushes the limits with multi‑directional impact simulations, ensuring the shell can absorb forces from varied angles.
Weighing just 650 g in sizes S/M and 680 g in L/XL, the Kru offers a featherlight feel without sacrificing durability. Riders can choose between a stark Solid Black or a clean Solid White finish, each reflecting the helmet’s minimalist design philosophy.
Oxford Products will handle the UK launch, coordinating distribution and retail presence. The Kru begins shipping on August 3rd, priced at $460, and will be available through select dealers across the region.
