He finished the year with an immaculate 11‑0 record and a 1.26 earned‑run average, throwing 66 ⅔ innings while fanning 57 batters and walking just 22.
His precision helped the Trojans capture the Vine Valley Athletic League title and lock down a playoff berth, marking one of the program’s finest campaigns in over ten years.
The Press Democrat recognized his impact by naming him its Baseball Pitcher of the Year, an honor that also earned him co‑pitcher of the year in the league.
Coach Mike Smith praised Okamura’s work ethic, noting that the young right‑hander’s blend of velocity and control has set a new benchmark for future arms.
