During his senior year, Jenkins earned the Huntsville Area Player of the Year award and was named Class 7A Hitter of the Year. He added First‑Team All‑State honors and secured a spot on the Perfect Game High School All‑American Third Team, underscoring his elite status in the state.
The Recruiting Flip
Jenkins originally pledged to the University of Missouri but later de‑committed, ultimately deciding on Troy after weighing the program’s vision and coaching staff. The reversal highlighted the dynamic nature of high‑school recruiting and the impact of personal connections.
