Kameron Keenan, a pitcher from North Buncombe High School, revealed his commitment to Virginia Tech on July 27, joining a growing list of Western North Carolina athletes heading to ACC programs.
A season of milestones
During his junior year he earned All‑Western North Carolina second‑team honors as an infielder and posted a .406 batting average, six home runs, eight doubles and 29 RBIs. On the mound he went 4‑2 with a 4.74 ERA, striking out 65 batters while walking 27 in 34 innings.
Keenan took the opportunity to thank his family, coaches and the Virginia Tech coaching staff, emphasizing how their support made the decision possible. He will arrive on campus as a member of the Class of 2027 and will pitch for the Hokies beginning next season.

The commitment follows another recent pledge from Western North Carolina, as Holt Gaston of Roberson announced his intention to join North Carolina State on July 15. Both signings illustrate a competitive pipeline of talent emerging from the mountains.
