A Fresh Start for NJC Basketball
Kameron Pearce has been named the new head coach of the Northeast Junior College (NJC) men’s basketball program, taking the reins of a team that has been a launching pad for numerous standout athletes.
Pearce, a Colorado native, returns to the campus where he once wore the NJC jersey under legendary coach Eddie Trenkle, a relationship that forged his understanding of the game and his commitment to player development.
Before stepping into the head‑coach role, Pearce spent five seasons on the staff at NJCAA Division I Western Wyoming Community College and served as an assistant at Division II St. Mary’s University in Texas, where he helped shape competitive squads and mentored players who later pursued professional opportunities.
Eddie Trenkle, who recently transitioned to the position of athletic director at NJC after a long tenure as head coach, expressed confidence in Pearce’s ability to elevate the program both on and off the court, citing his deep ties to the community and his proven leadership.
