Kansas Baseball Honored with ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award for 2025-26

Sixth straight year of recognition among Big 12 programs

Kansas Baseball has been awarded the American Baseball Coaches Association’s Team Academic Excellence Award for the 2025‑26 academic year, marking the sixth consecutive season the program has received the distinction and the eighth time in its history.

The honor places the Jayhawks among nine Big 12 institutions that were recognized, while a total of 132 Division I schools across the nation earned the academic accolade.

To qualify, teams must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0, and Kansas posted a 3.26 GPA for the year, underscoring the team’s commitment to scholarship as well as competition.

A Tradition of Academic and Athletic Excellence

The ABCA’s awards framework, which dates back to 1949 with the inception of the ABCA/Rawlings All‑America Teams, also includes regional and national coaching recognitions, a Hall of Fame, and specialized ethics and coaching awards.

Kansas’s latest academic honor reflects a sustained culture of excellence that aligns with the program’s broader mission of developing well‑rounded competitors.
