Extended 'Late Night in the Phog' brings new matchups
The University of Kansas has revealed that this year's 'Late Night in the Phog' will stretch across two days, turning the traditional single-session showcase into an extended celebration of Jayhawk basketball. Phog Fest will kick off at 2 p.m. on the day of each game, offering a full afternoon of activities before the first tip-off.
Exhibition schedule details
The men's team opens its exhibition slate against Pittsburg State on Friday, October 16, while the women's team hosts Washburn on October 29. Additional home contests include a matchup against Louisville on October 21 for the men and a season-opening game against Northeastern State on October 22 for the women.
Coaching storylines
Former Jayhawk guard Jeff Boschee, now at the helm of Pittsburg State, adds a narrative twist to the upcoming contest, linking past and present Kansas basketball traditions.
The expanded schedule not only gives both programs more competitive exposure but also deepens community engagement, giving fans a chance to experience multiple high-profile games within a single weekend.
