Kansas Women’s Soccer Climbs to No. 17 in National Rankings

The Jayhawks achieve their highest ranking under Coach Nate Lie, driven by standout performances from Jillian Gregorski and Caroline Castans

The Kansas women's soccer squad has risen to No. 17 in the latest IWSOC national poll and No. 14 in the TopDrawerSoccer rankings, marking the first stretch of three consecutive weeks inside the top 20 since the program’s 2019 peak.

A Milestone for the Program

Under third‑year head coach Nate Lie, the Jayhawks have turned early‑season momentum into a tangible climb, posting a 3‑1 record that includes a narrow 1‑0 defeat to No. 8‑ranked Ohio State and a 3‑1 victory over Kent State, where Jillian Gregorski and Caroline Castans each found the net within a two‑minute span.

The twin‑goal burst by Gregorski and Castans not only highlighted the team’s attacking depth but also underscored the emergence of a new scoring duo that now accounts for three goals each this season.

Looking ahead, Kansas will travel to face Utah Valley on August 27 at 8 p.m. Central Time before returning home to host Tulsa on August 30, an event that will double as Junior Jayhawks Day, offering fans a chance to celebrate the team’s resurgence.
