Head coach Marcus Freeman and running backs coach Ja’Juan Seider have repeatedly praised Young’s explosive burst and the confidence he has regained after months of rehabilitation. ‘He’s looked sharp in drills, and his mindset has shifted from ‘I’m just trying to get back’ to ‘I’m ready to contribute,’’ Seider said during a recent practice.
The competition for carries is fierce. The Irish backfield already boasts NFL‑drafted talents Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price, while senior Aneyas Williams is viewed as the top option in the rotation.
