Keenan Dolan, a 6‑foot‑5 senior pitcher‑outfielder from Bishop Manogue High School, announced his commitment to the University of Nevada’s baseball program on Wednesday, choosing the Wolf Pack over a previous verbal pledge to South Carolina.
The decision comes after the university’s longtime coach Paul Mainieri stepped down, leaving Dolan to reconsider his future. He ultimately decided to stay in the Silver State, where he will join a program that reached the Class 5A state championship game last spring.
Dolan’s impact will be felt on both sides of the mound. As a pitcher he posted an 8‑3 record with a 1.55 ERA and 85 strikeouts in 63.1 innings, while at the plate he batted .427 with nine home runs, 50 RBIs and a 1.342 OPS.
His dual‑threat abilities earned him the 2025‑26 Nevada Gatorade Player of the Year award, an honor shared only with Robby Snelling in the past two decades for Northern Nevada players.
A New Era for Nevada Baseball
Dolan’s commitment signals a recruiting win for the Wolf Pack, reinforcing the program’s ability to attract elite talent from the state’s top high schools. The addition of Dolan, alongside his former Manogue teammates, creates a pipeline of local talent that could keep Nevada competitive in the Mountain West Conference.
Two of his former Manogue teammates, pitcher Wade Huntsman and outfielder Jaxsyn Durst, will also be on the roster, adding depth to a staff that already boasts a strong pitching rotation.
Looking Ahead to the Draft
With the MLB draft scheduled for July 11‑12 in Philadelphia, Dolan remains a top prospect, currently ranked No. 129 nationally by the Prep Baseball Report and a two‑time participant in the PBR Futures Game. If he elects to sign professionally, the draft could pull him out of college and into the minor leagues, but for now his focus is on helping Nevada contend for a national title.
