Keiser Seahawks Fall 10-0 to Hope International in NAIA Opener

Season ends at 36-19 as Royals advance to next round

The Keiser University Seahawks saw their 2026 campaign draw to a close with a 10‑0 loss to No. 21 Hope International University Royals in the opening round of the NAIA tournament, the final score coming at Harris Field in Lewiston, Idaho.

A Quiet End to a Promising Season

Finishing the season at 36‑19, the Seahawks concluded a campaign that featured five players batting above .300 and three who compiled double‑digit totals for the year.

Hope International struck first in the second inning, and the lead grew when Royce Clayton launched a solo homer in the fourth to push the margin to 3‑0. The Royals then broke the game open in the fifth, plating several runs that stretched the deficit beyond reach.

Keiser’s offense managed only limited rallies, leaving six runners on base and going 0‑for‑6 with runners in scoring position. Jeremy Garcia led the lineup from the top, finishing 2‑for‑4, while Elian Collado and Maddox Shaver each doubled. Tad Brooks and Avery Doezie also contributed hits, but the rally fell short.

On the mound, the Seahawks’ bullpen combined for 6.2 innings, with Carson Hawkes, Seth Broadwell and Allen Leitner shouldering the bulk of the work. Their efforts kept the game within reach early, though the Royals’ bats ultimately pulled away.

Among the standout performances, Nathan Estrada, Eric Valdivia and Jake Molloy posted strong seasonal numbers, while Isaiah Lane and David Allen anchored the defensive side. The team’s depth was evident as players such as Matias Nolasco, Spencer Davis, Colby Moran, Eddie Cotto, Hunter Essang, J. Williams, Austin Taylor and others contributed throughout the year.
