Former Atlanta Thrasher Keith Tkachuk has been voted into the Hockey Hall of Fame, joining an exclusive group of former Thrashers who have earned the sport’s highest honor.
A Hall of Fame Call for a Thrasher Legend
The induction marks the culmination of a career that blended rugged play with leadership, and it also celebrates the Tkachuk family’s deep roots in hockey, with sons Brady and Matthew now making their own marks in the NHL.
Tkachuk’s NHL journey began with the original Winnipeg Jets before he was traded to the St. Louis Blues, where he spent nine seasons before joining the Thrashers for the 2006‑07 campaign, appearing in just 18 regular‑season games but helping the club capture first place in the Southeast Division.
Although the Thrashers’ sole playoff run in Atlanta ended with a four‑game sweep by the New York Rangers, Tkachuk contributed a goal and two assists in that series, underscoring his impact even in a brief stint.
After leaving Atlanta, he returned to the Blues for a final stretch, later adding a brief spell with the Phoenix Coyotes, rounding out a career that spanned three decades and multiple franchises.
The Hall of Fame class also includes longtime Thrashers alumni Chris Chelios, Mark Recchi and Marian Hossa, cementing the franchise’s legacy among the league’s elite.
Tkachuk’s election reflects not only his individual achievements but also the broader impact of the Thrashers’ era in Atlanta, a period that still resonates with fans and players alike.
