A Fresh Face in the Coaching Staff
Western Colorado University announced today that Kenadee Winfrey will join the women's basketball program as an assistant coach, effective August 1. Coach K.C. Bassett highlighted Winfrey's proven ability to connect with players and foster growth both on and off the court.
Winfrey arrives after a distinguished playing career at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, where she was a key member of teams that captured four consecutive Mountain West Conference regular‑season titles and three tournament championships. Her contributions helped the program reach the NCAA Division I tournament in three straight years (2022‑2024) and the WBIT in 2025.
At West Texas A&M during the 2025‑26 season, Winfrey appeared in 27 games, posting 150 points, 109 rebounds and 37 steals, further showcasing her all‑around skill set. Across her collegiate tenure she logged 972 minutes in 85 appearances for UNLV, accumulating 247 points, 190 rebounds, 76 assists and 36 steals.

Beyond statistics, Bassett emphasized Winfrey's relational strengths: "She has a rare talent for building relationships and a deep commitment to player development."
