Kenston Bombers Aim for a Healthier 2026 Season
After a bruising 2025 campaign that saw fifteen starters sidelined, the Kenston Bombers are turning the page as they prepare for the 2026 season.
Coach Jeff Grubich emphasized the importance of staying healthy, noting that the team’s mantra this year is “Head down and charge the mountain.”
Key returnees such as senior receiver Khalil Hinton and junior running back Ethan Burge have already reported significant improvements in conditioning and nutrition, while veteran Eric Lemons and Will Hamm are back to anchor the offense.
The Bombers open the season on Aug. 21 at Solon before hosting Perry a week later, a schedule that Grubich says will test the squad early but also provide a platform to build momentum.
Young quarterback Ethan Lawrence, now a sophomore, has spent the offseason mastering the playbook, and he expressed confidence that the experience gained last year will translate into better decision‑making on the field.
With a deeper roster and a focus on injury prevention, the team hopes to translate its 6‑4 regular‑season record and a playoff win over Madison into a deeper postseason run.
