During the 2026 campaign Schmidt posted a .305 batting average, a .901 OPS and 50 RBIs, contributions that helped Georgia Tech capture both the ACC regular‑season and tournament titles.
In 2025 he hit a team‑best .397 average despite missing 20 games due to injury, and he transferred to Georgia Tech after a season at Georgia Southern in 2024.
