A Decade‑High Home Schedule
Kent State’s field hockey program has released its 2026 schedule, marking the most extensive home slate the program has seen in a decade. The team will play ten home games at Murphy‑Mellis Field, a venue that has become the centerpiece of the season.
The season opens with a series of road contests against Lafayette, VCU, Michigan and Vermont, with neutral‑site matchups also slated at Northwestern. These early tests will take the team from the Great Lakes to New England before the first home appearance.
A five‑game homestand kicks off on September 11 with a showdown against Michigan State, followed by Delaware, Central Michigan, Bucknell and UMass. The stretch represents a concentrated push to build momentum heading into the latter half of the schedule.
Later in the year the program will travel to face Appalachian State and Ohio State, while also hosting a mix of opponents that includes Ball State and Longwood. The regular season will conclude with a blend of home and away fixtures, setting the stage for postseason play.
The campaign culminates with the Mid‑American Conference Tournament in Oxford, Ohio, scheduled for November 4‑7, where Kent State will compete against the conference’s top teams.
