The Kentucky All-Stars senior boys basketball team opened its home-and-home series with a 106-83 loss to Indiana on Tuesday night, slipping into a deep hole early in the matchup.
Jeremiah Jackson led the Kentucky effort with 24 points, while top Purdue recruit Luke Ertel managed only eight points on 4-for-16 shooting, underscoring the challenge faced by the senior squad.
A Recruiting Ripple Effect
The two squads are slated to meet again on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, giving the Kentuckians a chance at redemption before a home crowd.
Several players used the game to clarify their college plans. Jake Feldhaus, a Madison Central senior, contributed 23 points and 12 rebounds before announcing his commitment to South Florida. Shortly after, Trinity senior Jayden Johnson also pledged to the Bulls.
Cole Edelen, a Ballard senior, sealed his future by signing with Fairfield University in May. The university, located in Connecticut and roughly an hour from New York City, highlighted Edelen as its highest‑rated recruit to date.
The commitments underscore a busy recruiting landscape, with South Florida and Fairfield joining a list of programs that have recently attracted top talent from the region.
