Kentucky’s men’s basketball program has released its full slate for the 2026‑27 campaign, a schedule that blends early‑season exhibitions with a demanding conference slate.
The first public showcase comes on October 2, when the Wildcats host the annual Big Blue Madness scrimmage at Rupp Arena, setting the stage for a series of preseason tests.
A home exhibition against Texas Tech follows on October 23, and a week earlier the team travels to face Little Rock on October 16, giving Coach Mark Pope his third chance to shape the roster before the regular season begins.
Fans will mark their calendars for November 3, when Kentucky opens its official season against Manhattan, a game that kicks off what promises to be a rigorous non‑conference schedule.
The preseason slate also includes a high‑profile Champions Classic matchup against Kansas on November 10 in Chicago, adding a national spotlight to the Wildcats’ early slate.
Beyond the exhibitions, Kentucky will host a parade of opponents such as James Madison, Northern Arizona, Grambling State, Appalachian State, Bryant, Louisville, Sacred Heart and Gardner‑Webb, while also traveling to face Oklahoma to start SEC play on January 2, 2027.
Conference action officially begins in early January, with the Wildcats opening at home against Ole Miss on January 5‑6, before a slate that includes matchups against Missouri, LSU, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, Texas, Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Arkansas and Florida.
Coach Mark Pope, now in his third year at the helm, has emphasized a blend of veteran leadership and fresh talent, aiming to translate the preseason momentum into a competitive SEC run.
Looking Ahead
With a packed calendar that spans from October’s exhibitions to March’s SEC showdowns, the 2026‑27 season offers plenty of opportunities for the Wildcats to test new lineups, build chemistry and chase a postseason berth.
