Kentucky Basketball Honors Academic Achievements
The University of Kentucky’s men’s basketball program has been recognized with the 2025‑26 NABC Team Academic Excellence Award, underscoring its commitment to scholarly performance alongside athletic success.
The award, presented by the National Association of Basketball Coaches, celebrates teams that maintain a collective grade point average of at least 3.0 across the roster, a benchmark that the Wildcats met with distinction.
Complementing the team honor, senior forward Walker Horn and guard Zach Tow earned spots on the NABC Honors Court, a distinction reserved for players who achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
Both athletes completed their degrees in May, marking the culmination of careers that blended rigorous academics with competitive play on the court.
Their academic perseverance was highlighted by moments such as Horn’s first career basket against Tennessee Tech and Tow’s clutch free throw and three‑point contribution in games versus Tennessee Tech and North Carolina Central.

The 2025‑26 cycle saw more than 2,300 student‑athletes and 400 programs honored with NABC academic awards, reflecting a growing emphasis on graduation rates and classroom achievement in college basketball.
