Season Opener Details
The Wildcats will host Morehead State on November 2 inside the historic walls of Memorial Coliseum, marking the first meeting of the new season and setting the tone for what coaches expect to be a competitive year.
Kentucky holds a commanding edge in the all‑time series, leading 34‑4 and boasting a 24‑1 home record since 1976, while having won the last 17 encounters, the most recent a 106‑71 victory in 1990.
A Deep and Talented Roster
A deep roster returns with stars such as Clara Strack, the senior All‑American who earned Lisa Leslie Center of the Year finalist honors, and Asia Boone, who closed last season with 96 three‑pointers, the second‑most in program history.
The team also welcomes a highly touted freshman class that includes McDonald’s All‑Americans Maddyn Greenway, Savvy Swords and Emily McDonald, as well as a transfer group headlined by 2025 WNBA Draft pick Ajša Sivka, Me’Arah O’Neal, Ayanna Patterson, Diana Collins and Jemma Amoore.
Coaching and Expectations
Head coach Kenny Brooks will guide the group, leveraging his deep knowledge of the program and the added depth provided by the new transfers and freshmen.
Preseason rankings from On3 place the Wildcats ninth in the nation, underscoring the excitement surrounding a squad that blends experience with fresh talent.
