Kerry Brown returned to the place where his football journey began, turning the familiar halls of Naples High into a bustling training ground for the next generation of athletes.
The two‑day camp, which attracted over 150 campers from across Southwest Florida, was designed not only to sharpen fundamentals but also to instill the leadership qualities Brown hopes to embody as a senior presence for the Golden Gophers in the upcoming 2026 season.
Building Leaders On and Off the Field
Brown, a 2024 Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year semifinalist and a preseason Athlon Sports All‑Big Ten Fourth Team selection, used the platform to share insights from his own rise, emphasizing discipline, teamwork and the responsibility that comes with representing his university.
The camp’s staff read like a small alumni network: Brown’s older brother Derrick, who now coaches with the Naples Gators youth program, joined forces with current Minnesota teammates and Dallas Cowboys rookie Devin Moore, a fellow Naples High graduate who offered personal tips on navigating the professional game.
Beyond skill drills, Brown highlighted the importance of giving back to the community that helped shape him, pledging to make the camp an annual tradition and to continue mentoring young athletes who dream of following a similar path.
Local families left the field with more than just new techniques; they walked away with a renewed sense of possibility, inspired by a player who blends ambition with a commitment to hometown roots.
