Ryan Younglas, a junior at Keystone High School, has been crowned Ohio Player of the Year in Division V baseball, a distinction that marks the first county recipient in eight years.
His season was defined by a .527 batting average, six home runs and 37 RBI, while on the mound he logged 52 1/3 innings with a 2.01 ERA and 93 strikeouts.
A Season to Remember
Coach Bert Fitzgerald praised Younglas for his relentless work ethic, natural talent and the character he brings to the team.
Teammate Tucker Webb, who missed a month due to injury, was also selected to the D‑V All‑Ohio team, underscoring the depth of Keystone’s roster.
Local Schools Celebrate All‑Ohio Selections
Across the region, Amherst High School led Division II with five players earning All‑Ohio honors — Harrison Schneider, Landon Wolf, Cael Charles, Cooper Bingham and Eli Toyoda — while North Ridgeville’s Jason Begalla received an honorable mention.
In Division III, Westlake’s Sean Brouillard and Ethan Thompson earned All‑Ohio recognition, and Elyria Catholic’s Ryan White and Brookside’s Danny Fries made the second team in Division IV, with Firelands’ Aaron Bower noted as an honorable mention.
Columbia’s Logan Menge and Carter Duley were similarly honored in Division VI, completing a sweep of accolades for schools throughout Lorain County.
The collective achievements reflect a vibrant high school baseball landscape, where individual excellence and team perseverance continue to raise the bar for future seasons.
